Despite Dave Hurwitz' underappreciation of this conductor, I thought this movement was nicely done although the strings seemed to overpower the woodwinds and brass and the timpani were hardly heard. The last note, though, was beautifully drawn out in just the way "love tells me" .

Impecable y original versión de esta joya de Lully. Y qué bien queda la batuta del barroco, el bastón de madera de este grande, que marca con tanta fuerza los compases.

Normalerweise höre ich mir solche Musik nur live an... aber weil ich evtl. etwas aus der Klavierfassung für Großbassflöte und Klavier bearbeiten wollte bin ich über einige grausige Fassungen an dieser hier hängen geblieben und die ist in jeder Hinsicht toll - nicht nur die Performance, sondern (im Gegensatz zu anderen Aufnahmen) auch die Aufnahmequalität. Bravo !!!!

First Movement, Well done! Excellent ensemble balance and rhythmic cohesion. Slow movements are tough! Hard to keep the line flowing. Excellent solo players throughout, especially the trombonist! Very rich sound from the brass, all sections.

The stunning 4K visuals combined with the powerful music resonated throughout my entire being, giving me goosebumps. Thank you so much for this amazing experience.

This is a good example of how a young conductor can lose control of a work's critical tempi. The last few pages of the choral score are too fast and all the choir can do is bark out the notes. One major consequence is that the sopranos don't have time to form their high notes which end up sounding very thin and so the four-part texture is compromised.
